FY 2025 Federal Budget Clears Congress:
With the threat of a federal government shutdown less than a day away, nine Senate Democrats including Minority Leader Chuck Schumer voted for the partisan (Republican) spending bill. This will keep the government funded and operating for the remainder of Fiscal Year 2025.
On March 11, 2025, the U.S. House of Representatives, passed H.R. 1968, overwhelmingly along party lines. The Senate followed suit on March 14, 2025. This measure continues to fund the federal government for the remainder of Fiscal Year 2025, generally at FY 2024 levels.
If you are interested in learning more about the FY 2025 budget process as well as the provisions in H.R. 1968, see this CQ House Action Report. Bill provisions begin on page 7 of the Report.

Sadly, some of the affected personnel are opting to resign. Continued uncertainty remains over additional cuts.
